College Pipeline Leagues

Tournaments are not approved right now, but VolleyOC is proud to offer competitive play in league format to players interested in rising into the ranks of college players

A great way to keep your skills sharp while the beach volleyball world waits for a return to traditional tournament play

A world with Covid requires a few extra precautions, but outdoor activity with appropriate social distancing can offer a relatively safe way to keep bodies active and healthy. VolleyOC is excited to launch 3 day leagues for the players who often compete in our events. Events generally contain just 16 teams per age group, with no mixing between age groups.

Format:
Each day, teams will play in two pools featuring match play, giving each team four best of 3 matches each day. We'll use modified pool play which will cut down the number of contacts per day for covid safety. Top teams will move into higher pools while weaker teams will move into weaker pools. Typically, we'll move two teams from a given pool up, and two teams down when pool play completes.

Cost and Refunds:
Price for a 3 day league is $195/team, similar to three days of tournament play. If permitting circumstances change, or you need to withdraw due to illness, we will issue a prorated refund of $60/day.

Where:
All leagues are held at Newland Street in Huntington Beach State Park on courts close to the multi-use trail. We will use three rows, one for each of the age divisions.

Spectators & Coaches:
Unfortunately we are unable to welcome spectators to the beach to watch league play. Players are encouraged to set up live streaming on their cameras. Clubs with four or more teams in the league may request to have a coach on-site.

Parking:
We have Huntington State Beach parking passes that are good for the calendar year. They are available at a very low cost to participants only. Typically, passes are purchased on-site with cash; informing the gate attendant of your intent to purchase a pass will usually get you into the park for free.
